Mher Abeghyan Museum
The Mher Abeghyan Museum, which is a branch of the National Gallery of Armenia, was founded in 1990. The role of the artist in the development of painting and graphic arts of the city was great. Here you can see the works of the artist from the 1930s and 1940s. Mher Abeghyan's paintings are distinguished by their epic breath, interesting and bright colors, as well as light saturation.
69 paintings, 11 drawings and 1 sculpture are presented here. Mher Abeghyan practiced etching, but his preferred graphic technique was linocut. The works made with this printing technique are interesting for their mastery, monumentality, beautiful processing of the surface and expressiveness. 30 chamber works by Yeghishe Tadevosyan and one sculpture by Khachatur Iskandaryan are also exhibited.
Mher Abeghyan's oil paintings are presented at the exhibition of the museum, as well as the artist's graphic works are regularly shown. Some of the paintings are in the permanent exhibition of the National Gallery of Armenia.
